He was predeceased by: his daughter Sharon Gatewood Huff; and his sister Gerline Davis. He is survived by: his wife Mamie Helen Gatewood; his children, Michael Gatewood (Marion) and Lisa Gatewood-McMillan (Cletis); his grandchildren, Carmicah Rice (Christopher) and Anticia Robinson (Marquez); and his great grandchildren, Cannon, Christian and Ethan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
