He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Elizabeth Stevens Swinney; his parents, Otis Swinney and Sally Leonard Swinney; and his siblings, Donald Swinney, Hazel Kirby, Dorothy Stevens, Belva Jones, Edna Elliott and Janice Lee.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Boyce Swinney (Wanda) of Boiling Springs, SC and Annette S. Carswell (James) of Inman; his brother Grady Swinney of Chesnee; his grandsons, Thomas Carswell (Ali) and Joseph Carswell; and his great grandchildren, Ansley Carswell and Graham Carswell.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307).
