She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Skinner and Bessie Barnett Skinner; her husband Gene Timothy Simpson, Sr.; her son Gene Timothy Simpson, Jr.; her grandson Nathan Simpson; and her siblings, Charles Skinner, Gladys Henderson and Betty Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Alan Dale Simpson (Patty) of Cowpens, SC and Jeffery Todd Simpson (Tracy) of Fort Mill, SC; and her daughter-in-law Margaret Simpson of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel (2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Davis Chapel Wesleyan Church (1965 Dewberry Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307).
