He is survived by: his wife Sara Nix Herring; his sons, David Herring (Tracy) and Randall Herring; his grandchildren, Adam Herring (Lauren) and Caitlin Monroe (Andrew); and his great grandchildren, Henry Herring, Penn Herring and Charlotte Monroe.
