He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Timmons and Ruby Moore Timmons; his siblings, Sue Hill, James and David; and his siblings-in-law, James Sawyer, Sr., Jerry Hill, Sr. and Anne Otts.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Otts Timmons; his siblings, Gene (Darlene) and Ann Sawyer; his sister-in-law Bobbie Timmons; his brothers, Mike Linder and Willie Sims; and his godchildren, Kelly, Travis Stafford of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Kristen and Ben Sullivan of Roswell, GA. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews as well as 12 great-nieces & great-nephews.
