He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Lee and Avonell Stepp Peterson; his brothers, James Carrol Peterson, Hobert Peterson and Lee Peterson; his brother-in-law Tom Walker; his siblings' children, Tyler Walker, Chaunce Edwards and Shannon Headman; and his in-laws, Sidney Leroy Belue and Ora Pace Belue.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Belue Peterson; his sons, Gordon James Peterson (Deborah) and Brian Dale Peterson; his siblings, Ronnie Peterson, Rhonda Walker, Linda Jewell and Janice Headman (Rodney); and his sister-in-law Susan Laramore Peterson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bobo Funeral Chapel (1860 Cannons Campground Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
