He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Rice and Ethel Griffin Bobo; his wife Garle Jefferson Griffin; and his siblings, Ivory Victor "IV" Rice, Sr. and Betty "BJ" Staggs.

He is survived by: his sisters, Ann Medley (Maceo) of Silverwood, MI, Annie Bell Peak of Las Vegas, NV and Jenelle Bey (Larry) of Ateo, NJ.
