The memory of Lois McMakin of Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on July 9, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Jefferson McMakin, Jr.; her parents, Elbert B. Brown and Thaddie Bolton Brown; and her siblings, Bill Brown, Donnie Brown, Harold Dean Brown and Elaine Thrift.
She is survived by: her children, Philip McMakin (Nee) of Roebuck, Patrick McMakin (Paula) of Chesnee, Paula Lance (Mark) of Inman and Phyllis Riddle (Todd) of Cowpens; and her grandchildren, Luke Lance (Mikayla), Jordan Mullins (Denver), Joseph Lance, Karsen McMakin, Kendal Budd-Felix (Kash), Andrew McMakin (Shelby), Morgan Lee (Bryce), Trenton Riddle and Lauren Riddle. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mountain View Baptist Church (650 Battleground Rd, Cowpens, SC 29330). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
