It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Dean Poteat of Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Joe Poteat; and his brother Mark Poteat. He is survived by: his mother Nancy Ivey (Roger); his sister JoAn Sartor (Robb); and his granddaughter Kimberly Dillard.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the MID City Shrine Club (1470 Fort Prince Blvd, Wellford, SC 29385).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital of Greenville at 950 W Farris Road Greenville, SC 29605 or a donation box will be available during the Celebration of Life.
