Though Ray may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ray leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray E. Thompson and Evelene Wilson Thompson of Spartanburg, SC.; and his sister Lynn Thompson of Spartanburg, SC.. He is survived by: his wife Maria Thompson; his stepchildren, Natalie and Nathan Kimbrell; his stepgranddaughter Ellie Kimbrell of Boiling Springs, SC.; and his sisters, Jane Godwin (David) of Greenville, SC and Kim Godwin (Winston) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Nadeau Mortuary (5880 Chesnee Hwy, Chesnee, SC 29323). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Spartanburg Humane Society or Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory, Chesnee, SC.
