We announce the death of Roy Harris of Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 86. Roy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Harris and Ellen Earls Harris; the mother of his children Ruth Ward Harris Ruppe; his children, Alfred "Leebo" Harris and Sara "Renee" Harris; his wife Elizabeth Million Harris; and his siblings, Willie Harris, Robert Harris, James C. Harris, Sara Harris, Marie Massey and Nancy Swofford.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Edwards (Billy), Linda Shackleford and Roy "Dale" Harris (Darlene) of Cowpens; and his grandchildren, Michael Lee Whitt, Renee Ashcraft (Zach), Jessica Cunningham (Alex), Terry "Turk" Martin, Eric Martin, Pam Harris (Rodney), Wayne Harris, Travis Harris (Julie) and Annie Firebaugh. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, 3 stepchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 11 step great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
