He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelia Beatrice Herndon and Franklin Wofford; his wife JoAnn Pitts Herndon; his siblings, Johnny Steve Herndon (Marvin Wofford) and Louise Peoples; and his grandparent Rev. Almanis Herndon (Rachel).
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Marie Herndon of Spartanburg, SC; his siblings, Gwendolyn Prince Lawrence (Eugene) of Statesville, NC, Alfred Herndon, Bobby Herndon (Ann) and Willie James Herndon; his grandchildren, Diquan Herndon (Alicia Tomlin), Jashanti Hall, Jabarri Wilkins and Sanijah Mitchell; and his great grandchild Kingston Hall. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel (602 Howard St, Spartanburg, SC 29303).
