He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Corona Johnson Thompson and Layton Stephen Thompson; his daughter Anne Thompson Ward; his son-in-law Dr. Mark Edward Ward; his grandchildren, Layton Mark Ward, Madison Anne Ward and Charlotte Neal Ward; his brother Kelly Bruce Thompson; his wife Charlotte Burns Thompson; his son Stephen Milton Thompson, II; and his sister Janet Pope Wills. He was also cherished by his family, dear friends, brother and sister-in-law, nephews, nieces.
