It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Varnette Gibson (Spartanburg, South Carolina), who passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Smith and Idaliah Lee Smith; and her siblings, Millie Day, Margaret Mathis, George Smith and Roger Dale Smith.
She is survived by: her sister Juanita Bahr of Crossville, Tennessee.; her children, Stephen Gibson of Media and Terry Kressin of Clarksville, Tennessee.; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Boyd, Stacey Kressin, Kimberly LaPorte and Aaron Gibson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Floyd's Mortuary (235 N Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29306). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Garden (1955 Cannons Campground Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307).
