He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Lee Tate and Mamie Gertrude Flynn Tate; his wife Gail; and his siblings, Carolyn Hill, Molly Jean Lewis and Jesse Tate.
He is survived by: his children, Katrina Murphree Garrett (Ryan), David Tate (Shannon) and Mary Elizabeth Bergstrom (Tim); and his grandchildren, Connor, Cinnamon, Caellum Murphree, Maxwell, Samuel Tate, Sullivan, Duncan and Elliott Bergstrom. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
