He was predeceased by: his parents, E. J. Lomax and Sara Frances Collins Lomax; his siblings, Virginia Lomax Clary, Jeanette Lomax Kennedy, Donald Lee Lomax, Dennis Lomax, Rachael Lomax Massey, Nina Lomax Turner, Louise Lomax and Danny Lomax; and his stepson Gene Wicker.

He is survived by: his wife Melba Crowe Lomax of Lake Secession; his daughter Jeannie Hadden (D. W.); his stepchildren, Cyndy Sanders (Kit), Angela Adams and Jamie Perdue (Mark); his grandchildren, Steven Livengood, Cody Livengood, Aden Sanders, Alex Wicker, Nicole Wicker and JaLynn Perdue; his great grandchild Natalie Livengood Dalice Norris; and his siblings, Faye Lomax Horne (Ronnie), Linda Lomax Pound (Robert "Doodle"), Joyce Lomax Horne (Mike) and Raymond Lomax (Debbie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
