It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Max Shirley of Starr, South Carolina, who passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Addison Byars and Grace Arnold Shirley; and his brother Bud Arnold Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Susan A. Shirley; his children, Sumer Oliver (Travis) of Greer, Drew Shirley (Amber) of Belton and Lauren Shirley of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Ryan Armstrong (Shelly) of Honea Path, Michelle Armstrong of Mt. Pleasant, Reid Oliver, Davis Oliver, Addison Oliver, Harper Shirley and Declan Shirley; and his sisters, Gloria Pruitt, Bonnie Knight (Marty) and Janice Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
