She was predeceased by: her spouses, James Aubrey Murphy and Lord; her parents, John Monroe Alewine and Nettie Kathleen Hall Alewine; and her siblings, James Boyce Alewine and Alice Alewine Bradberry.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Murphy Ogburn (Bart) of Greenville, Debbie Murphy Whitfield (Terry) of Piedmont and Karen Murphy English (David) of Pawleys Island; her grandchildren, Kiefer Ogburn (Aneeqa), Brooke English Guy (Tyler), James English and Michael English; and her great grandchild Kaya Aubrey Ogburn. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
