He is survived by: his wife Eva Creel Platt; his children, Morgan Avon Platt (Amy) of Lexington, SC, Jack O. Platt, Sr. (Ellen) of Summerville, SC and Amanda Jane Upchurch (Allen) of Pelion, SC.; his grandchildren, Brady Platt, Hanna Limehouse (Kenny), Logan Platt (Mabry) and Jack Sr.; his son Jimmy Platt; his granddaughters, Brittany Whitlock, April Whitlock, Tiffany Thompson (Brad) and Andrea Upchurch; his great grandchildren, Aleena, Peyton, Aiden, Cooper, Maddie, Evelyn, Malia, Brooks, Lucas and Keagan; and his sister Francis Creel. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the James A. Dyal Funeral Home (303 S Main St, Summerville, SC 29483). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of God (10383 US-78, Summerville, SC 29483). A burial will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Dorchester Memory Gardens (11000 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485).
