She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Libby and Alma Serino Libby; her former husband Ralph C. O'Brien; her sons, Wayne R. O'Brien and Scott B. O'Brien; her siblings, Al Libby and Alma; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Mullins and Blake O'Brien.

She is survived by: her husband Harry Pate; her daughters, Laurie A. O'Brien of Bonneau Beach and Kelly E. Vernarec (Steve) of Goose Creek; her siblings, Edwina Libby of Summerville and Leo Libby (Peggy) of Summerville; and her grandchildren, Stephen Vernarec, Keith Vernarec (Lindsey), Kristin Trail (Andrew), Lindsay Mullins, Dana Weatherford (Danny), Devon O'Brien and Ashley Taylor (James). She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
