He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell L. Hilton and Reba Spell Hilton; and his brother Charles W. Hilton. He is survived by: his wife Ceely; his sons, Paul F. Hilton (Jenny) of Mt. Pleasant and Phillip T. Hilton (Rachael) of Summerville; and his grandchildren, Kinsey Hilton, Paul Hilton, Jr. and Sullivan Hilton.
