He was predeceased by: his father Robert H. Barnett; and his brother Dennis Harrold Barnett. He is survived by: his wife Linda Barnett (Kennard); his mother Geraldine 'Gigi Barnett (Snook); and his sisters, Trina Hooper (Wayne), Beth Murrian (John), Debbie Vaughn (Rick) and Faith Calhoun (Dewey). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
