She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Leighton Sturdivant and Marlene Deitrich Sturdivant; her husband Melvin D. Willis; her sons, Melvin D. Willis II and Marquel D. Willis; her siblings, Bonita Clark, John Sturdivant, Tammy Sturdivant (Blaise Boumkvo), Sonya Sturdivant-Singleton and Crystal Sturdivant; her sister-in-law Sharon Willis-Fane; her niece Amber Willis; her great-nephew Malachi Warren; Chelsey Carroll and Lennon. She was also cherished by other nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren.
Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic she had been an active member of Faith Church.
