She was predeceased by : her parents, Enocenio Bataan and Valeriana Bataan; and her husband Clarence James Capers. She is survived by : her son Clarence Jerod Capers; and her sisters, Mary Armstrong and Rose Morris. She is also survived by 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Parks Funeral Home (130 W 1st N St, Summerville, SC 29483). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM at the same location.
