She was predeceased by: her father Carlisle S. Carter, Sr.; her sister Patricia Ann Carter Taylor; and her grandparents, Helen, Oliver Clayton, Jannie Mae and C. Myer Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Freddie Glenn Dodd, Jr. of Summerville, SC; her mother Anna Margaret Clayton Carter of Ridgeville, SC; her children, Darrel Arthur Spayth III (Diane) of Summerville, SC, Will Riley Carter of Summerville, SC, Anna Marie Summers Harlan (Jay) of Summerville, SC and Donna Nicole Hans (William) of Summerville, SC; her siblings, Carlisle Summers Carter, Jr. of Ridgeville, SC, William Michael Carter (Rebecca) of Ridgeville, SC, John Wayland Carter (Pamela) of Ridgeville, SC, Bryan Clayton Carter of Ridgeville, SC and Laverne Carter Smith (Banks) of Charleston, SC; and her grandchildren, Landon, Dexter, Sadie Faye, Riley, Rory, Benjamin, Sawyer and Kyler.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridgeville Southern Methodist Church (413 School St, Ridgeville, SC 29472). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
