He was predeceased by: his mother Mamie Houser Thompson; his sons, Douglas Thompson and William Thompson; and his siblings, Carl Thompson, Edgar Thompson, Forest Hugh Thompson, Doris Hughes, Sarah Clark and Hazel Montgomery.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; and his children, Dwayne Thompson of York, SC, Norma Bell of Summerville, SC, Deborah Wieland (Casey) of York, SC and Quincy Harris (Danette) of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
