James E. Alewine Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Alewine of Summerville, South Carolina, born in Greenwood, South Carolina, who passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred H. Alewine, Sr. and Clara B. Alewine; his wife Betty W. Alewine; and his siblings, Fred H. Alewine, Jr., Mary Claire Driggers and Betty A. Satterfield.

He is survived by: his children, Donne Alewine White and J. Michael Alewine; his grandchildren, William J. White, Joye E. White and Matthew G. White; and his brother-in-law Al Wilson (Brenda). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made to the South Carolina United Methodist Foundation, Inc. (P.O. Box 5087, Columbia, SC 29250-5087) for the James E. and Betty W. Alewine Scholarship Fund.
