He was predeceased by: his mother Iris Mims (Padgett); his wife Betty Mims; his father Middleton Gillespie Mims; and his brother Pat Mims (Vera). He is survived by: his grandchildren, Eden and Raina Hill of Virginia; his nephew Monty Mims of Ravenel; his niece Angie Lewis (Kelly) of Vance; and his great-nephew Patterson Mims.
