He is survived by: his wife Annette Brandenburg Meachum; his children, Joseph Ernest Meachum, Jr. and Lauren Meachum Gary (Bert) of Augusta, GA; his grandchildren, Anne Myers Reeder Gary of Charlotte, NC and Albert (Kamp Gary, IV); and his sister Henrietta Meachum Cannon of Greenville, SC.
