She was predeceased by: her parents, Ventura Villarreal and Herlinda Villarreal (Moreno); her husband Apolonio Cantu, Sr.; her son Apolonio Cantu, Jr.; her siblings, Jose Guadalupe, Leopoldo, Arturo Villarreal and Carmen Rodriguez; and her great grandchild Charlie Finn.
She is survived by: her children, Guadalupe Mitchell (Thurman), Martha Wilkins (Gary), Teresa Ashton (David) of Port Clinton, Ohio, Alfredo Cantu (Tabithta Leutz) and Rosie Nagy (Steve) of Oregon, Ohio; her daughter-in-law Barbara Cantu of Summerville; and her grandchildren, Danielle Steel (Marcus), Teresa Whitten (Justin), Antonio Cantu (Latoya), Ricardo Cantu (Megan), Eric Wilkins, Jennifer Ticknor (Jagger), Leah Ashton (Ben Krzynowek), Nathan Ashton (Marlee), Cory Cantu (Megan), Jack Nagy (Heather) and Jay Nagy (Moriah). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made in Maria's name to Immaculate Conception Church, Immaculate Conception School, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
