With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ronald A. Cooksey of Summerville, South Carolina, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eber Cooksey and Sue Cooksey; his siblings, Priscilla Belue (Paul) and E. Jerry Cooksey; his nephew Norman Belue; and his niece Emily Cooksey Rodrigues.
He is survived by: his wife Lana Cooksey; his children, Ronald "Jay" Cooksey (Tammy) of Summerville, SC, Kathleen "Kay" Crocker (Chris) of Spartanburg, SC and Lana "Niki" Nicole Hoffman (Brian) of Johns Island, SC; his grandchildren, Kristie O'Connor Paula (Leanne), Taylor O'Connor (Brant Gillespie), Megan O'Connor (Will Tate), Christian Kyle Crocker (Danielle), Nicolas "Cole" Crocker (Alexis Puckett), Austen Adcock-Cooksey (Kelsey Le) of Summerville, SC, Brandon Stryker of Tyler, TX and Timothy Stryker of Tyler, TX; his siblings-in-law, Brooks Huskey (Marilyn) of Woodruff, SC and Anita Cooksey; his nieces, Sharon Boone and Mielani Cooksey; and his foster sons, Tony Smoak and Brent Allen. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
