He was predeceased by: his son Jason Richard Vaughan; and his brothers, Bruce Vaughan and Stephen T. Vaughan. He is survived by: his wife Gale Canaday Vaughan; his daughter Lara Bain (Gordon); his grandchildren, Jessica Ashley, Frank Rodia, Brittany Rodia and Michael Rodia; his great grandchildren, Dominic Martinez and Issac Martinez; and his siblings, Anthony "Tony" Vaughan and Robin Rene Hanna.
