She was predeceased by: her husband John David Nelson; and her sister Shirley Speight. She is survived by: her children, Marcia Nelson Goodman (Tod) of Summerville, John David Nelson, Jr., N. Charleston, Michael Brett Nelson of Williamsburg, VA and Maria Catherine Martin (Lee) of Summerville; her grandchildren, Thomas Mitchell Payne (Jordan) of West Ashley, Rachel Elizabeth Dirks (Tyler) of Summerville, Zackery Michael Nelson of Hampton, VA, Ryan Matthew Nelson of Williamsburg, VA and Hannah Leigh Martin of Summerville; her great grandchildren, Kenleigh Payne, Dalton Sloan and Beckham Dirks; and her siblings, Francis Anderson and James Naves.
