He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Smith of Summerville, SC; his children, Michael Smith (Teresa) of Summerville, SC and Leilani Porter of Milton, FL; his sister Judith Marie Terpstra of Washington, IN; his grandchildren, William Porter (Larry), Hugh Smith, Jeffrey Porter (Meredith), Emily Smith, Steven Porter and Clay Porter; and his great grandchild Cana Porter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the church or the VA Veteran's Homeless Shelter.
