He is survived by: his wife Janie Capers of Summerville, SC; his grandchildren, Natalie Capers of Charleston, SC, Kathy Jackson of Summerville, SC, Jeremy Aiken of Atlanta, GA, Kianna Capers of Spartanburg, SC and Nekebia Phillips of Summerville, SC.; his siblings, Geraldine Singleton (Ezekiel) of Charlotte, NC, Sam Capers of New York, NY and Cornelius Earl Capers (Johnnie Mae) of Macon, GA.; and his children, Chloe Brown, James Johnson Jr. and Ashley Goodwin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other long-time family friends.
