She was predeceased by: her parents, John Elonzo Evans and Exie Collins Evans; her husband Henry E Young; her son Willie Howard Young; her grandson Carnith Nelson Cribb; and her great grandchildren, Susan Lenae Garey and William Kevin Cribb, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Iris M. "Penny" Ewing of Sumter, SC and Tressie Carolyn Sealy of New Bern, NC.
