She was predeceased by: her parents, George Shaw and Dinah Shaw; her husband Isaac Durant; her daughter Almeta Dian; and her siblings, Paul Shaw, Thomasine Abrams, Ann Shaw and Johnnie Mae Gibson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gloria, Jennifer and Sylvia; and her siblings, Minnie Greg, Evelina Parrott, Luegenia Yates, Dinah Shaw, Josephine Jennings and Moise Shaw. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
