He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther James and Rachel Adams Young; his wife Peggy Wallace Young; his daughter Georgia Ransom; his grandchildren, Alphonza "Luther" Young and Billie "Peaches" Van Buren; and his siblings, John Young, Frederick Young, Joanne Thorton, Madeline Revere Garrett, Alvin Revere, Daniel Revere, Rowena Revere Ginlack and Linston Young.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Wallace, David Young, James Wallace, Benny Wallace (Lurnethia) and Alphonso Wallace; his grandchildren, Harold Ransom (Cindy), Michael Ransome (Lakeasha), Fredrian Robinson, India Wallace, Darnell Wallace, Alphonse McDaniel, Benny Wallace, Jr., Mario McDaniel, Jasmine Ransom, Malik Ransom (Markeeta), Michael Ransome, Jr. (Jamaya), Jycora Cooper, Marlik Ransome, Marquise Ransom, Sergeant Dajan VanBuren (Courtney), Dajanay VanBuren, Shanekwa Dalton (Robert), Ayonna Young, Kristopher Young-Gregg, Amar'e Davis, Carson Ransom and Asantea Wallace, Jr.; and his sibling's children, Rachel McCoy and Daniel Revere. He is also survived by other relatives and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Whites Mortuary (517 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jehovah Baptist Church (805 S Harvin St, Sumter, SC 29150). A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
