It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia Mitchell (Sumter, South Carolina), born in Mayesville, South Carolina, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Lee and Wilhelmenia Benjamin Jacobs; her siblings, Addie Wilson, Bertie Mae Rhames, Henry Jacobs and Charlie Jacobs; her brothers-in-law, Henry Wilson, Clarence Rhames, Willie Morant and Eligah Ricks; her husband Pernell Mitchell; and her son James Mitchell.
She is survived by: her sons, Timothy Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell and Darrell Mitchell; her grandchildren, Raymard Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell Jr., Arielle Mitchell and Amera Mitchell; her siblings, Catherine Morants, Maggie Ricks, Roxanne Josey (Patrick), Gloria Jacobs, Kotel King (Phillip), Sally Norwood (Ervin), Catherine Bridge, Sammie Jacobs (Sandra), Bennie Wilson (Jennifer), Leon Jacobs and James Jacobs (Lois); and her sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mitchell and Victoria Jacobs. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
