It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ayako Smith of Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kaiju Takami and Miya Miyamoto Takami. She is survived by: her spouse Thomas M. Smith; and her brothers, Akira Takami of Tokyo, Hiro Takami of Tokyo and Satoru Takami of Tokyo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
