She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nathan Niemeyer and Virginia McIntosh Niemeyer; and her daughters, Miriam Reed of Virginia and Barbara Ann Reed. She is survived by: her daughter Leigh DuRant Reed; her granddaughter Virginia "GiGi" Leigh Joyce; and her close friend Nancy Alderman Mims of Sumter.
