He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nathaniel Griffin and Clemmie Ingram Griffin; his former wife Ethel Ruth "Lucy" Condrey Griffin; and his siblings, Cleo Jackson, Mary Lou Truluck, Florence Jackson, James Griffin, Carroll Griffin, Charlton Griffin, Robert Griffin and William Griffin.

He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Neal (Eddie); his stepchildren, Linda Hansen (Tony) of Sumter and Mark Watkins (Susan) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Dickard, Lucy Silva, Kayla Hansen, Ryan Neal and T. J. Hansen; and his great grandchildren, Lauren Dickard, Rosemary Silva, Abbie Hansen, Walt Dickard, Griffin Dickard, Eddie Silva, Landon Griswold and Ty Hansen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
