With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betsy Shealy Humphries of Sumter, South Carolina, born in Batesburg, South Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh Chapman Humphries, Jr.; her parents, Josiah Padgett Shealy and Alma Wise Shealy; her sons, Mark and David Humphries; her brothers, Preston S. Shealy and Josiah P. Shealy, Jr.; her stepgrandson Colt Soles; and her sisters-in-law, Fran Buffkin Shealy and Betty Sawyer Humphries.
She is survived by: her children, Hugh "Chip" C. Humphries III of Sumter, Beth Humphries Stilwell (Rodney Stilwell) of Winston-Salem, N. C. and Logan Humphries Bagley (Scott Bagley) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Emily Stilwell Kingsbury (Philip), Josiah Stilwell, Helen Givens Truesdale (Jordan) and Hugh C. Humphries IV; her stepgrandchildren, Robert Soles, River Soles, Tara Scout Soles, Elizabeth Bagley-Sepsey (Katlyn) and Andrew Bagley (Abby); her great grandchildren, Jackson Stilwell, Rachael Kingsbury, Cayden Kingsbury, Cameron Kingsbury, Carter Maye Truesdale, Collins Truesdale and Rainn Bagley-Sepsey; her siblings-in-law, Margie Asbill Shealy of Batesburg, Jane Humphries Lawton (Kirk Lawton) of Myrtle Beach, S. C. and Leonard Humphries of Charlotte, N. C.; and her cousin Norma White of Sumter. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
