It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Ray Murrell (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on August 11, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Robeson Evans and Hattie Phillips Evans; her son Stephen Ray Murrell; and her brothers, Richard Evans and Bobby Evans.
She is survived by: her sons, Al Murrell (Sharon) of Henrico, NC, Richard Murrell (Donna) of Sumter and Les Murrell (Judy) of Easley; and her grandchildren, Mary Beth Mims (Kenneth), Rebecca Breland (Branford), Melissa Chae (Danny) and Thomas Murrell. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
