He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Turner Shipman; his son David Young Shipman; and his siblings, Peggy Shipman Cook, James Shipman Jr. and Herbert Shipman.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Moise (Marc) and Craig Shipman (Trish); his grandchildren, Whitney Glenn (Steven), Taylor Daye (Levi), Sam Moise, David Moise, Andrew Shipman (Amber) and Courtney Taylor (Max); and his great grandchildren, Ruby, Riley, Sadie and Ember.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (802 N Guignard Dr, Sumter, SC 29150).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Church, 136 Poinsett Dr., Sumter, S.C. 29150.
