He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dotty" Mathis Lyles; his children, Charles "Chuck" Van Patten and Paige Lyles Stokes (Danny); his grandchildren, Todd Brown (Gaffney), Amber Van Patten McGarity (Colin), Mary Daniel Stokes Griffith (Austin), Luke Stokes (Ansley), Samuel Finn Lyles and Georgia Claire Lyles; his great grandchildren, Ashton Brown, McLendon Brown, Elle Brown, Baker McGarity, Kixx Stokes and Emily Griffith; his siblings, Bill Lyles (Shirley) and Jean Redmond; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Lyles, Gloria Lyles and Van Lyles. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
