He is survived by: his wife Judy Knotts McElveen; his children, Donald Lawrence "Bubba" McElveen (Heather "Mary"), Daniel Lee, Sherry Lynn Teal and Linda Fowler (Michael); and his grandchildren, Allison McElveen, Thomas McElveen, Michael Fowler, Amber Teal, Julia Coite, Donald McElveen, III, John Teal, Jace Fowler, Chessie Bigelow, Christian Barksdale, Chandler McElveen, Brady McElveen, Nathan Barksdale and Daniel Lee McElveen, Jr.. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel (1190 Wilson Hall Rd, Sumter, SC 29150).
