We are sad to announce that on March 6, 2024, at the age of 91, Doris Russell Geddings (Sumter, South Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Otis Clinton Geddings; her parents, John Tyler Russell, Sr. and Ellen Hodge Russell; and her siblings, Mary Sigmon and John T. Russell, Jr..

She is survived by: her sons, Thomas R. "Tommy" Geddings of Bishopville, Otis Russell "Rusty" Geddings (Deborah) of Sumter and David B. Geddings (Renee) of Sumter; her grandchildren, Karen Worley (Brad), Clint Geddings (Laura), Stacy Mixon (Michael) and Brian M. Geddings (Katie); and her siblings, Annie Jo Dempsey (George) and Charles "Buck" Russell. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

“Heaven certainly received a precious angel! I grew up knowing Miss Doris and have many fond memories of this wonderful woman. My favorite being when she and her partner in excursions signed up for some mystery “tours” out of Columbia. They both boarded the bus wondering where their exciting travels would take them. They left Sumter and rode the bus to Columbia only to find themselves arriving at Swan Lake Gardens! These two were such a hoot!! They enjoyed the time they spent together.”
