He was predeceased by: his wife Lois A. "Avanell" Hendrix; his parents, Leroy Hendrix and Edith Louise Carpenter Hendrix; his great grandchildren, Courtney Hodge and Eaddy Osteen; and his siblings, Walker Lee Hendrix, Clara "Punkin" H. Preast and Margaret H. Quick.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Randy Osteen (Dee) of Manning and Annell Smith (L. D.) of Summerton; his grandchildren, Darla Lowder, Stacy Osteen, Tina Timmons and Jonnell Atkins; and his sisters, Marie H. Browder of Sumter and Betty Jean H. Davis (Oscar) of Sumter. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home (515 Miller Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
