He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Hanley Whitfield; his parents, Otis Whitfield and Iris C. Whitfield; and his great grandchild Colton Clark. He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Whitfield (Carol) of Sumter, Debbie Whitfield Stewart (Reynolds) of Barnwell and Catherine Whitfield Corbett (Warren) of Aiken; and his grandchildren, Aaron Whitfield, Stacie Clark, Mandy Geddings, Ryan Barnhill, Whitney Barnhill, Alicia Jones, Todd Corbett, Curtis Corbett and Kayla Corbett. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
